The Springbok Sevens will face a formidable challenge in their quest for another Vancouver SVNS title as they begin their campaign against New Zealand in the 'Pool of Death'. The team, under the leadership of head coach Philip Snyman, prefers a tough opening match to ensure they are fully engaged from the first whistle. The artificial playing surface at BC Place typically favors the South Africans, and Snyman has made some strategic adjustments to his squad, which finished fourth in Perth last month. Returning to the team are playmaker Tristan Leyds and speedster Sebastiaan Jobb, the latter making a comeback after nearly two years.
