The Blitzboks suffered a 19-17 defeat to Argentina in their final pool match at the Perth Sevens on Saturday, but they still advanced to the quarterfinals. The match saw Argentina dominate the first half, establishing a commanding 19-0 lead with tries from Matteo Graziano, Marcos Moneta, and Matias Osadsczuk. The Blitzboks , however, rallied in the second half, turning the tide with a series of turnovers that led to tries from Quewin Nortje, Selvyn Davids, and Shilton van Wyk.
Despite closing the gap to two points, the Blitzboks couldn't secure the victory as Argentina held on to win the match. This result places South Africa in a quarterfinal clash against Fiji, the winners of Pool C. The match is scheduled for 12:19 pm. Meanwhile, Argentina, winners of Pool A, will face Great Britain in the quarterfinals.
