US president Joe Biden compared the Queen to his mum in a touching tribute after paying his respects at her lying-in-state.
Afterwards the Princess of Wales held an audience with Ms Zelenska at Buckingham Palace.
They sat either side of a fireplace on gingham armchairs with purple orchids on display in the background. The UK's ambassador in Kyiv, Melinda Simmons, said she was "deeply honoured" by the president's gesture.
