The owners of Doddington Hall, a best-selling historian, and an international education leader are amongst this years' Honorary Award Recipients from Bishop Grosseteste University.
Before taking on Doddington in 2007, James had a successful career in finance, including two decades at Goldman Sachs in various global locations. He holds an economics degree from Cambridge and briefly served as an Army Officer. In response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, he established the Ukraine Twinning initiative, pairing international universities with Ukrainian counterparts to provide support and resources. This initiative has garnered widespread support and currently aids over 170 Ukrainian universities.
Dame Judith has been actively involved in various educational and cultural institutions and currently holds significant roles such as Joint Chair of the London/New York Dialogues and Commissioner of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.Alison Weir is a highly popular and bestselling historian, with over 3 million books sold worldwide. She has authored twenty-one history books, covering topics such as Richard III, Elizabeth I, Eleanor of Aquitaine, and Henry VIII.
