“We should never accept it is part of the normal daily routine to watch people kill themselves slowly in public.” He’d like to see treatment beds spaces available as quickly as possible. After all, today’s standard operating procedure is not the best of all possible worlds. “We support the police. We trust their judgment to determine who is a sick guy and who is a bad guy who needs to go to jail.”
