The Junior Springboks faced a tough challenge in theiropener against New Zealand U20, playing out a thrilling 13-13 draw at the Sunshine Coast Stadium in Bokarina, Queensland.
Despite struggling at the breakdowns and being pinned back in their own half for most of the first period, the Junior Springboks showcased exceptional defence. However, he acknowledged that they need to improve their ball retention on the ground and be more clinical when opportunities arise.Looking ahead to their next match against Australia, Nhleko identified several areas for improvement. The Junior Springboks need to sharpen their kicking game, decision-making on the front foot, and management of the backfield.
The Junior Springbok coach also highlighted the need for his team to be more clinical in attack and take advantage of scoring opportunities when they present themselves.
