Bafana Bafana have dropped a place or two in the latest FIFA rankings. The team failed to beat lowly-ranked Andorra side last month.

Having finished third in theAfter the Afcon, Fifa released the rankings, indicating that Bafana only jumped eight places. The reason was that they only won two of their seven matches at the Afcon inside 90 minutes. Penalty wins count negatively in the rankings as they count more as a draw than a win.
Following their Afcon heroics, South African football fans found their voices and started backing the national team again. In March, Bafana played two friendly matches with European minnows Androrra and North African giants Algeria. The draw against Andorra has badly affected Bafana in the latest FIFA rankings as they drop one spot. The Desert Foxes are ranked higher, so a draw wasn’t a bad result.Morocco remains the number one ranked African team followed by Senegal and Nigeria.
