A 35-year-old man is appearing at Nottingham Crown Court this afternoon to face motoring charges in connection with the death of a woman in a crash. The incident, dated back to January 19 this year, involved two vehicles and a fatal road traffic collision., died at the scene in Southwell Road, Oxton, at around 8.10pm. Her vehicle ended up in a ditch.
She had been to attend to an elderly couple she cared for and was returning home to change into her uniform to continue on her way to her shift at a hospital.Defendant Matthew Adrian Plimmer, of Raylawn Street, Mansfield, is accused of driving whilst disqualified in an Audi Q7 on Bonner Lane, Calverton. He is further accused of causing the death of Miss Drury when he was a banned driver on January 19 on Southwell Road, Oxton.
The remaining charges are: Using the Audi Q7 without insurance on Bonner Lane, Calverton, and causing Miss Drury's death by driving without due care and attention when over the drink drive limit. It is alleged Plimmer, a self-employed plumber, had a blood alcohol reading of 100 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood, over the legal limit of 80, in Southwell Road, Oxton.
