The West Coast swing may be continuing at Pebble Beach this week, but this is more of a week off as it pertains to the top players on the PGA Tour.

Unfinished business… that’s what Seamus Power must be thinking about this week. The Irish native held a five-shot, 36-hole lead this time last year but finished just T9 after rounds of 74 and 72 on the weekend.

His putting and scrambling numbers are well up over last season, which is a great sign for an otherwise below-average ball-striker. He ranks ninth on Tour in strokes gained putting this season, up from 40th in 2021-22, and is up to 19th from 81st in strokes gained around the green. This windy, coastal golf is where the Scot thrives the most and his results here bear that out. He’s finished 33rd or better in four of his last five tries here — a stretch that includes a T7 and two other Top 15s — and in six of his nine starts overall.
