Larose was the former director of development for the Sudbury science centre

The Sudbury science centre has been on the hunt for a replacement after longtime CEO Guy Labine resigned in March to become the CEO of the Arizona Science Centre.Larose, the organization’s director of development, “was chosen unanimously by Science North's board of trustees following an intensive international search led by an external recruitment company.”

Born and raised in Northern Ontario, the press release from Science North has Ashley Larose crediting her passion for science to “time spent exploring the outdoors coupled with an early interaction with a Science North Bluecoat visit to her hometown of Smooth Rock Falls.” Larose studied biology at the University of Waterloo, graduating with an Honours Bachelor’s degree. The release states she worked as a research scientist in various cities across North America, until returning to Northern Ontario and settling in Sudbury. Larose has been Science North since 2006 serving in various capacities, including leading the organization’s outreach programs, teacher training programs and international business development, and managing the organization’s customer relations.
