Argos-Riders rematch pushed back to Sunday because of COVID concerns CFL
The Riders cancelled practices on Tuesday and Wednesday, putting this weekend’s game against Toronto in doubt.
This isn’t the first time the Argos have had a game postponed because of COVID. Last year, an early game against the Edmonton Elks, who were experiencing their own COVID crisis, was rescheduled for the final week of the regular season. The Argos, having already clinched first place in the East and a bye into the division final, sat out most of their starting players on offence and defence.
The Argos did not dress Isaiah Wright last week and lost Javon Leake to a hamstring injury two weeks ago. So Brissett and Brandon Banks were asked to shoulder the return role.
