It wasn’t lost on Argos head coach Ryan Dinwiddie the changing dynamics in the East Division standings following Friday night’s loss by the host Montreal…
The smallest of cracks has been opened that will allow Argos running back Andrew Harris to return late in the season after he underwent surgery to repair a torn right pectoral muscle. He’s been in constant contact with the surgeon who performed the procedure in Harris’ hometown of Winnipeg.Advertisement 5Whether it’s an ultrasound or some other imaging method, Harris will visit a Toronto hospital to get a better feel on how the pec is progressing.
“Just trying to bridge the gap from player to coach,’’ said Harris, who has the makings of a coach once he decides to retire. “Helping to be a second set of eyes. I still want to make an impact in any way I can. I’m still not ruling it out of eventually being back. “I’m going to push it as hard as I can to make that happen. It’s definitely a long shot, but it’s something I want to do.”Rookie Eric Sutton was ejected from last week’s game against Hamilton for unsportsmanlike conduct.Advertisement 6The league fined the defensive back for his actions to fellow rookie Kiondre Smith. It also cost Sutton in the wallet.
“He’s got to learn from that and it can’t happen,’’ said Dinwiddie of Sutton, who started at safety when the Argos visited Regina earlier in the season. “You can’t have that stuff.”“The veterans were pretty hard on him,’’ added Dinwiddie. “He really hasn’t done much here. He did that selfish act, which is one anyone can have. The Argos have announced the signings of RB Adam Cofield and DL Ali Fayad.
