Southcentral Alaska has a chance to see some spring snow as well. That is likely to happen on Tuesday, but the snow will have little chance to stick around, likely melting as it hits the ground. Upper levels – low over Bristol Bay. Snow shower activity starts tomorrow over the BB coast. A winter storm watch begins Wednesday morning over the Kuskokwim Delta and Nunivak Island. Storm snow total accumulations of up to 8 inches possible along with wind gusts to 50 mph.
Farther north, over the interior Seward Peninsula, snowfall estimates of 10-14 inches and winds up to 55 mph are contained in a winter storm watch that also begins Wednesday morning, going through Thursday morning.The current weather pattern sees a low rotating through the Gulf of Alaska Monday night. This will bring a chance of snow to Southcentral Alaska Tuesday, with little chance for the snow to stick.
For Southeast Alaska, wet weather to the southeast, overnight lows near freezing. This will be the case for the region through the next several days as a colder air mass hovers overhead.
