A second sinkhole has emerged on Jalan Masjid India - the same road where a 48-year-old Indian tourist was swallowed by one days earlier.
A tractor stands on the location of a patched-up sinkhole on Jalan Masjid India that occurred about 50m away from the sinkhole that swallowed an Indian tourist on Aug 23, 2024.
News agency Bernama said the second sinkhole has since been completely cordoned off by Kuala Lumpur City Hall. The tourist disappeared after falling into the sinkhole in front of Malayan Mansion while walking to a nearby temple. Since the incident, claims from 2015 have resurfaced on social media that there was potential for a “giant sinkhole” to emerge in the Malaysian capital at any time.
