Environment Canada has issued another heat warning for eastern and inland Vancouver Island.

The weather agency says both regions are expected to see daytime highs between 29 to 34 degrees and overnight lows between 15 and 17 degrees.

The heat warning for eastern Vancouver Island, which was issued at 4:30 a.m. Thursday, applies to Courtenay to Campbell River, Duncan to Nanaimo, and Nanoose Bay to Fanny Bay.“A ridge of high pressure and a warmer airmass will give another hot day today. Cooler temperatures are expected on Friday and into the weekend,” Environment Canada said in a statement on its website.Sign up for our newsletter to get breaking news and daily digests sent to your email.

Young kids, people who are pregnant or have chronic illnesses, older adults and those working or exercising outdoors are especially at-risk, Environment Canada says.
