The Clarence Community Hall was originally a school and home for the Temperance Lodge. The Clarence Community Hall, formerly known as the Clarence East School, had a small but mighty plaque pinned to its wall. It is now a registered municipal heritage property in the County of Annapolis.

I sit on the county’s Heritage Advisory Committee, so this is a part of our county that I admire and am so respectful of the work that goes into keeping up these old buildings that tell the stories of long ago.
Avery stated very clearly why it is so important to save and preserve these buildings. Here is what he said, “One could say that buildings like this one, are the very essence of a community, and their beating heart. Historical buildings such as this one help to describe one’s origins and help us better comprehend our understandings of who we collectively are today. These structures help to define a sense of place, an identity for a community, and most importantly a place to call home.
