Investing in Studio 2880 is essential to support groups and individuals in the city, the vice-president of the Community Arts Council says
This weekend has provided an opportunity to celebrate and host visitors and athletes from across British Columbia and has showcased Prince George as a vibrant and welcoming city. As a volunteer host for the BC Summer Games I have also felt the enthusiasm and energy of having such an event in our town. I have been fortunate to call Prince George my home for most of my life. Community spirit is unparalleled and volunteerism is equally so.
As a member of the Community Arts Council Board, I know that this funding is essential to support individuals and groups across the City. When we think of 'Art' we often default to historical forms of artistic endeavour. Artistry and creativity include so much more! Think of your neighbour woodworking in the garage, potters working with clay, weavers and spinners, not to mention culinary artistry. I think the YMCA says it best in its commitment to 'Mind, Body, and Spirit'.
