Alberta has launched a new campaign to poach skilled workers from Ontario.

The pitch to move includes pointing out Alberta has the highest average wages and lowest taxes in the country.Those who make the move can live in a major city in a home for the fraction of the price compared to Toronto. According to Canadian Real Estate Association, the average house price in Edmonton was $383,000, which is 38% of the price in the GTA.Advertisement 3There are shorter average commute times, and the mountains can be reached from major cities in 50 minutes.Alberta also claims to get 300 days of sunshine a year.
“Alberta’s Recovery Plan has been so effective in growing the economy that we are now facing a shortage of skilled workers across several sectors. Fortunately, Alberta has among the best opportunities and the highest quality of life in Canada, so we’re excited to make our case to Canadians, and let the facts speak for themselves. This campaign will show Canadians in major cities the amazing life that awaits them in Alberta,” Alberta Premier Jason Kenney said in a release.
