Calgary patients waiting for surgery should expect a phone call from Alberta Health Services in the next few months to update their status.
The program is part of AHS’ surgical recovery plan, which includes strategies to reduce waitlists for non-urgent scheduled surgeries. Those who hang up or do not return the call will not have their position on the waitlist impacted. The waitlist team will call and speak with these patients about their status.
