After a bout of rain, snow and wind on Tuesday, the weather should be better in northern Utah through the weekend.

A high-wind advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Wasatch Mountains north of Interstate 80. There are west winds of 30-40 mph, with gusts up to 60 mph, and blowing snow may make travel difficult.Winds of 74 mph were recorded at 9,569 feet at Snowbasin; 72 mph at Powder Mountain; and 69 mph at Beaver Mountain. Winds are the strongest east of I-15, and are expected to weaken on Tuesday evening.
There was snow in the mountains and rain mixed with snow in the valleys on Tuesday morning, with little or no accumulation. In the Salt Lake City area, expect highs in the low 40s on Tuesday. Sunny skies will return on Wednesday with highs in the mid-40s, and it’ll be in the mid-50s on Thursday and the mid-60s on Friday.
