A man and woman died on the scene after they were ejected from the Chrysler which caught on fire, according to HCSO.
HARRIS COUNTY, Texas -- Two people were killed Saturday night after a crash involving a train in northeast Harris County, deputies say.
At about 8 p.m., deputies responded to a scene where a train struck a vehicle at 12900 Beaumont Highway at Van Hut Lane. An Amtrak train 1 was traveling from New Orleans to Los Angeles when a Chrysler 300 went around a vehicle at the train track with arms down and collided with the train about 12 miles from the Houston Station, according to authorities.
More than 80 passengers were on board the train but did not suffer any life-threatening injuries, Amtrak said. A man and woman died on the scene after they were ejected from the Chrysler, which caught on fire, according to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.
