The KaBokweni Magistrate’s Court found no reasonable grounds to grant an urgent bail application for two men accused of murdering nine people.
The two suspects accused of nine people’s murders at a tavern shooting in Pienaar, Mpumalanga, in January, will remain in custody.
The court found that they failed to provide justifiable grounds for their bail to be granted. They had abandoned bail provisionally on January 21, but shortly after decided to go through with the application. Six of the victims were declared dead on-scene while three others died in hospital due to their injuries. A further three people were injured and survived.
