Cameroonian winger Georges-Kevin Nkoudou attributes his impressive goalscoring streak to advice from England captain Harry Kane. Nkoudou, who played alongside Kane at Tottenham Hotspur, has scored 23 goals since joining Saudi Pro League club Damac in August 2023.

Georges-Kevin Nkoudou credits advice from England captain Harry Kane for his prolific goalscoring form. Since joining Saudi Pro League club Damac in August 2023, the Cameroon ian winger has netted 23 times, including 15 goals last season. This surge in goals surpasses his previous best of eight in a single season while playing for Turkish club Besiktas.

Nkoudou, who shared the Tottenham Hotspur pitch with Kane from 2016 to 2019, often reflects on the Bayern Munich striker's insights during their time together in north London. 'I learn a lot from watching Harry because, as a goalscorer, I have never seen anyone like him,' the 29-year-old told BBC Sport Africa. 'I know I can get myself in good positions. Some goals I have scored with Damac are because I think about Kane.' Nkoudou's improved composure and confidence in front of goal are attributed to remembering Kane's advice.Nkoudou's lone goal for Tottenham came in a Champions League group match against Cypriot side APOEL in December 2017. Reflecting on his time with Tottenham, he stated, 'When I got the chance to go to England, I didn't even hesitate as this is what I had always wanted. Of course, I was so young, but I trusted myself and I knew my quality. When you go to such a big team and you're young, you go there first of all to learn - because they have so many great players.' He describes his time in London under then-Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino as 'tough' but ultimately beneficial for his growth as a player and person.Nkoudou's international career has seen him represent Cameroon at the 2022 World Cup and the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. Despite previously representing France at the youth level, he chose to play for his mother's homeland. 'However, when I spoke to my family and friends, I knew it was going to be a big honour for me. It was an easy decision,' he explained. His most memorable international moment was participating in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, where he made two substitute appearances. Nkoudou acknowledges the unique challenges of playing for an African national team, stating, 'As an African team, it is a little bit different because you're not the favourite but you need to give everything for your shirt and for your country.' Nkoudou has faced limited playing time at the international level, but his recent performance in the 2025 Afcon qualifier against Zimbabwe, where he was named man of the match, showcased his talent and potential. He scored one goal and provided an assist in a 2-1 victory. Nkoudou emphasizes his desire to compete and contribute to his team, stating, 'I like competition and I like a challenge. I know when I play I can do great things for a team.' He believes Cameroon, a five-time continental champion, is among the favorites for the tournament in Morocco and praises the impact of their new coach
