The tour celebrates the 50-year anniversaries of ZZ Top’s breakthrough album and Lynyrd Skynyrd’s debut album.
Tommy CummingsZZ Top and Lynyrd Skynyrd are planning a July 29 stop at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth as part of their “The Sharp Dressed Simple Man Tour.”
The 22-stop tour opens July 21 at West Palm Beach, Fla., and continues through Sept. 17 at Camden, N.J. Besides Fort Worth, the tour also stops in San Antonio and The Woodlands . The tour focuses on the 50-year anniversaries of the two groups’ significant albums. 2023 marks the golden anniversaries of ZZ Top’s breakthrough album,. The name of the tour plays off ZZ Top’s “Sharp Dressed Man” and Skynyrd’s “Simple Man.”
ZZ Top most recently played Dos Equis Pavilion in Dallas on Sept. 24. Lynyrd Skynyrd performed on July 21 at Billy Bob’s Texas.Elwood Francis has assumed his stage duties alongside singer-guitarist Billy Gibbons and drummer Frank Beard, an Irving native.
