"It would thus be a grave error for Judge Koen not to recuse himself," Zuma’s lawyers argue in submissions filed at the Kwazulu-Natal High Court in Pietermaritzburg, in which they further contend that"it is in the interest of justice that Justice Piet Koen must recuse himself from any further participation in the trial of Mr Zuma".
