A MyBroadband analysis reveals that Zulzi, the on-demand grocery delivery company, is more affordable than competitors like PnP asap!, Spar2U, and Sixty60. Zulzi offers on-demand grocery deliveries, liquor, and pharmaceutical deliveries from seven dark stores. It recently revamped its platform and processes over 5,000 daily orders. The company also built Checkers Sixty60's initial platform and continues to maintain it. Zulzi was found to be the cheapest option for many items in a comparison basket, totalling R431.90 compared to R438.90 for Checkers Sixty60, R449.90 for PnP asap!, and R458.90 for Spar2U.

Its pharmaceutical delivery service allows users to upload their prescriptions and claim from their medical aid schemes in real time. At the time, the on-demand delivery service boasted an average delivery time of 17 minutes from a customer placing an order to it arriving at their doorstep.Zulzi founder Vutlharhi “Donald” Valoyi confirmed to MyBroadband that the company built Checkers Sixty60’s customer-facing app, the engine that manages product catalogues, and the dashboard used to manage orders, users, and store managers.
“Big corporations must be more flexible and be open to work with startups and allow them freedom to continue to grow.”On-demand delivery price shootout Zulzi was the most expensive option for just one product: a 700g loaf of Sasko Premium White Bread, for which it charged R19.99.
