Zondo recommends NPA consider corruption charges against Tony Gupta in latest state capture report
JOHANNESBURG - The commission of inquiry into state capture has continued taking names in its fourth report, recommending more criminal investigations into members of the Gupta family.
The commission had been working to try and complete the entire report by the end of the month. But on Thursday, the Pretoria High Court granted commission chair, Chief Justice Raymond Zondo, an extension until 15 June to wrap up the fifth, and final, instalment. When Jonas took the stand at the commission in 2018, he testified that in October 2015 he had gone to the Hyatt Hotel in Rosebank to meet former President Jacob Zuma’s son, Duduzane Zuma, for a meeting that had been set up by African National Congress businessman, Fana Hlongwane.
