Zizi Kodwa to make first court appearance over R1.7m corruption allegations
Minister of sport, arts and culture Zizi Kodwa is set to make his first court appearance at the Palm Ridge Magistrates' Court on Wednesday facing corruption charges involving R1.7 million.
“The commission accordingly recommends that the president consider the position of Kodwa as deputy minister of state security. Having regard to the fact that Kodwa appears to find himself in a position where he is beholden to Jehan Mackay,” Zondo stated in his report.Kodwa is beholden to Jehan Mackay, to whom he owes more than R1.7m. Testifying before the commission, Kodwa admitted receipt of the money in question, but claimed they were transactions between friends and"not a bribe".
