An open letter written to the government on Friday also revealed one of Buyanga’s lawyers had been abducted.

However, the name of the lawyer who was abducted was not revealed. AMG board said it suspects that the abduction was sanctioned by state agents.

Additionally, the company added that it is “cheap and inhumane” for the state to abuse Buyanga’s son through interference in a judiciary process. AMG said if anything happens to its founder, Zimbabwe's first family will be held accountable. Buyanga has been at loggerheads with his ex-girlfriend for years now. The two have faced off in multiple court challenges in recent months, and more cases are still pending.

Muteswa was earlier this year awarded custody by a civil court magistrate but lost out in July this year when her father was evicted from the house they were staying in. A Harare court ruled she had no proper accommodation for the minor before Buyanga was awarded interim custody of the child. Muteswa has since appealed against the ruling and the case is yet to be finalised. On the other hand, Buyanga last week won a case in which he was seeking to name his son by his surname. Muteswa had registered the boy’s birth certificate using her credentials.
