It has been embraced by the International Cricket Council full member countries, including the West Indies and Sri Lanka, and it has now spread to Zimbabwe and the rest of sub-Saharan Africa.
The Zim Afro T10 League player draft was held last week. It includes Zimbabwe’s domestic established and up-and-coming players and international stars. While all matches of the league will be played in Harare from July 20 to 29, the South African flavour in the tournament goes beyond just the names of its three biggest cities attached to three of the five teams that will compete in the Zim Afro T10 League.
The man behind Zim Afro T10 is Shaji Ul Mulk, who told City Press during an interaction with the media in Johannesburg last month, that he was the “founder” of T10 cricket, said there were plans to play matches in South Africa going forward.
