A coroner says there is reason to suspect police could have done more to prevent Ms Aleena's death.
A jury will consider whether police officers could have done more to find Zara Aleena's killer before he murdered her, a coroner has directed.
The Coroners and Justice Act 2009 says an inquest must be held with a jury if a senior coroner has reason to suspect a death resulted from an act or omission of a police officer in the execution of their duty. McSweeney was released on licence from prison on 17 June 2022 and after he missed successive appointments, the probation service recalled him to prison on 24 June 2022. However, police did not find him at the address he had given and two days later he murdered Ms Aleena.
