Egypt ian giants Zamalek have refused to play in the latest edition of the Cairo Derby against Al Ahly .
After that 2-1 defeat, the White Castle lodged a complaint with the Egyptian Football Association citing referee injustice and outlining four demands for their continued participation in the Egyptian Premier League. The five-time CAF Champions League winners made their last league outing against Pharco as the deadline for all the demands to be met, but the EFA and the Clubs Association did not meet any of them, leading to Zamalek confirming they would not play in the latest Cairo Derby, which was scheduled to kick off later today, 25 June 2024.As a consequence of their refusal to play, the EFA has awarded the Club of the Century a walkover victory.
