South Africans took to social media beaming with pride as they congratulated Zakhele Madida, aka Zakes Bantwini, who won his first Grammy Award
The award was Kellerman’s second Grammy award as he already had one for his album Winds of Samsara in 2014.
“Thank you so much. This is such a beautiful moment. On the road to share South African music and culture with the world, thank you Nomcebo, thank you Zakes for your incredible creativity,” said Kellerman as he accepted his second Grammy. Zikode looked gorgeous in a beaded dress and her famous haircut. She sang the internationally recognised hit song, Jerusalema, just before she said her acceptance speech.
“Thank you so much to God. You know I once gave the world a song that took the world by storm, but I didn’t get this nomination or this award, but God was like to me ‘don’t worry my daughter, I will give you Bayethe’,” said Zikode.
