The couple allegedly pulled their stunts on purpose in order to scam insurance companies.
Christopher Phelps and wife Kimberly Phelps are facing multiple felony counts, including assault with a deadly weapon and child endangerment. The arrests came after the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department discovered the couple's YouTube channel. The department informed the CDI, which launched an investigation and found 162 dashcam videos on the channel, nearly all of which were car crashes, near crashes, and road rage incidents.
