Now that workers have celebrated Labor Day, a letter writer suggests that it is time to turn their attention to the upcoming general elections.I paid my school indebtedness by working part time while in school. I waited tables, washed dishes, worked at a service station after classes and drove a taxi in the evenings. In the summer between semesters, I worked as a roustabout in the oil fields around Baytown. When I left school to go into service, I was debt free.

Because it certainly will not do so once you are out of school.Re: “Celebrate and reflect, then do more for workers,” Another View, Sept. 5.Thank you for the work you do and the efforts of community organizers .
