Was the second, as reported, a political revenge move?As a voter, I look for people with ideals and character to represent me, not clever politicians. Do you suppose I am alone?The Collin County Republican Party has censured Sen. John Cornyn for being bipartisan.

I guess they believe in a one-party system like Russia, Communist China and North Korea. The members of the Collin County Republicans are downright un-American. We are a multi-party system, not a dictatorship.If anyone ever wanted to know why government doesn’t work anymore, one only has to look at the news that the Collin County Republican PartyThis is why government doesn’t work for the people. One political party is not interested in governing.

If you want more partisan stalemates, more culture wars-style legislation, more extremist politics, then by all means vote Republican in the fall. If you want responsible governing, vote Democratic.In Texas, the minority controls our Legislature and our U.S. House representation because of extreme gerrymandering. Clearly, states controlled by Democrats are also gerrymandered, but there are far more states controlled by Republicans.

Further, in the U.S. Senate, as in the Electoral College, states with smaller populations are overrepresented. Finally, three of the five Supreme Court Justices who voted to overturn Roe v. Wade were appointed by a president who lost the popular vote. It is now clear to everyone how out of step lawmakers can be with their constituents. In Kansas, where the Legislature was poised to criminalize abortion, the people voted overwhelmingly to maintain current law, which allows abortions up to 22 weeks gestation.
