Ben Youngs has all but written off England’s chances of victory against the world champion Springboks when the teams clash at Twickenham in November.

In a highly anticipated Test in the English capital, hosts England will seek revenge for their 2023 Rugby World Cup heartbreak at the hands of the Boks in France last year.

The Roses appear to be on a positive trajectory under the stewardship of Steve Borthwick, and finished third in the 2024 Six Nations before showing fight during their July tour to New Zealand. England, who are fifth in the world rankings behind Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand and France, kick off their end-of-year schedule against the All Blacks in London on Saturday. After facing the Kiwis, England will play Australia on 9 November, South Africa on 16 November and former boss Eddie Jones’ Japan on 24 November.

“The game that I look at and think England can get unstuck… I think South Africa right now are pretty far ahead of where England are,” the veteran scrumhalf said.
