The electrician suffered a broken neck and back, a fractured skull, and suffered internal bleeding and brain swelling.
A young man has been told it is unlikely he will ever walk again after a horror fall while walking at a beauty spot on holiday.
Megan described the horrific moment as she watched as Liam lay bleeding and unconscious. She said: "You almost can’t believe it, I still can’t really believe it myself to be honest. It’s one of those things that nobody really goes through normally, it’s awful, it’s really awful. Still to this day, I wake up and I don’t think it’s happened.
Megan said: "We were told he may never have proper emotions again, doctors said to me that he may know that I am Megan, but perhaps not that I am his girlfriend. I think they have to say these things as a worst-case scenario. Everything in Cardiff he doesn’t remember, and in a way, it’s probably good he doesn’t because it was quite traumatic."
"His level of injury is T12 which is meant to be around your belly button but it’s going down because he says he can feel things on his hips and stuff like that. "I cling to the hope that Liam will walk again. Each day is clouded by uncertainty and grief over what might have been. My heart breaks again every time I remember our envisioned life together. It's devastating beyond words.
"This makes us question if the initial prognosis of permanent paralysis was inaccurate and gives us hope that his condition may still improve over time. We want to explore every possibility for Liam's recovery and future mobility. Our goal is to help Liam reach his full potential, whatever that may be."
