Here are today\u0027s Ottawa Sun letters to the editor.
Re: Who bankrolls ‘whistleblower?’; Secret payoff equals zero integrity, column, July 10
For a long time, I’ve been reading Warren Kinsella and figured he was still a Liberal, but the Liberals had thrown him out. On July 10, I read his column “Who bankrolls whistleblower?” and it confirmed to me he’s nothing but a wolf in sheep’s clothing. His column was accusatory and threatening, almost to the point of bullying.
I think this Kinsella ego needs a swift kick in the “you know what,” and I’m disappointed that it seems the Sun newspapers would support this offensive writing. It appears that the young, naive and often prone to hyperbole climate activist Greta Thunberg is starting to appreciate the nuances of this complex issue.
With our prime minister repeatedly reminding the world that he is one of the pre-eminent climate leaders, he can also bask in this accurate assessment.Guess what has been missing in the news lately? So far this summer, there has been an absence of reported forest fires. Where are they? That is what has been missing in Canada’s news. The fires are usually a news staple during our Canadian summers. With everything that has befallen everyone these days, no forest fires is, in fact, good news.
And the translators are sometimes struggling to find or use the correct words/wording. Bilingual Canadians usually understand the political bafflegab in either “horror-fficial“ language anyway. A waste of time, not to mention money. But we Canadians must appear to be always politically and language correct, mustn’t we? Yeah … right!
