Ballymena charity Turning Point NI is just one of 14 mental health organisations in Northern Ireland that will benefit from the funds raised by this year’s Darkness Into Light sunrise walk, organised by Pieta House and proudly supported by Electric Ireland.
“It’s massively important,” she tells Belfast Live. “When we partner up with Darkness Into Light, it opens up the ability for us to bring awareness to our services. “From that, we can we can bring them forward into counselling to explore what brought the crisis on, what were the triggers, and then building the resilience to hopefully prevent the crisis happening again, and put them into a better place with their well-being.
“We see a lot of suicide and the impact of suicide. Around Christmas time, there's a few suicides in the town and there's that ripple effect.
