You can pay for fuel, medication and more with crypto thanks to a partnership with Zapper and Luno.
Merchants using Zapper include fuel stations, pharmacies and more.You may have seen Zapper branded QR-codes at points-of-sale around the country and even online. The company also enables tap-to-pay solutions with an NFC-enabled Android smartphone or tablet at South African merchants.
“We are delighted to be the first crypto asset service provider in South Africa collaborating with Zapper. This allows our customers to use the Luno app to pay anywhere Zapper QR codes are used,” says Tarris Arnold, business development manager at Luno said in a statement. Luno customers can complete a purchase using their crypto reserves by using the Luno app to scan a Zapper QR code online or at physical stores. Payments can amount to R100 000 per transaction.
This is an incredibly convenient solution and should make completing payments using crypto, more practical than ever. No more needing to fuss with vouchers and converting crypto to Rands. Just scan a QR code and payment is complete.
