For many, this time of year is a happy one. Family and friends gather, eat, drink, and get merry while enjoying each other's company and handing out gifts.

In 2016, at the age of 69 Byrne, now of Townsgate Way, Irlam, Manchester, travelled 150 miles to sexually attack an eight-year-old girl only to find out he had been talking to an undercover police officer. Grime was sentenced at York Crown Court at the beginning of April and made the subject of an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order for the offences that caused "untold trauma" to a young boy. He had previously been found guilty of eight offences. Grime had denied three counts of sexual assault on a child under the age of 13, four counts of child cruelty and one count of witness intimidation.
Nigel Coxon, 55, of Somerset Road in Huddersfield, logged into the call in August 2017. He then joined a break-out room where indecent images of category A and category B were being streamed by another user. The images showed boys and girls between the ages of three and 15 being abused. Coxon also posted a number of comments which showed he had a sexual interest in young girls. Coxon was jailed for two-and-a-half years.
Khan, 48, was found guilty of sexual assault following a trial at Southwark Crown Court. The court heard how the former Tory MP forced a 15-year-old boy to drink gin and tonic and asked him to watch pornography at a house party in Staffordshire in January 2008. This will be the only year the former MP will have to see in from a cell.Faheem Kola and Asaf Salim Kola and Salim were jailed after they were found to be operating a sophisticated, high-value plot to shift cocaine.
The young girl struggled to breathe as she was attacked by Duna, 19, in Bowling Park, Bradford on October 11 last year. He then threatened to kill the girl and then took her phone. The girl had been walking to school through the park when she was targeted. Duna had been sat on a bench nearby before he began to follow her. He was locked up for four years and seven months in a Young Offenders' Institution.
Jabari Fanty, Aaron Yanbak, Ricardo Nkanyezi, Jordan Foote and Salma Shazad Fanty, Yanbak and Nkanyezi were all handed life sentences in June after they were convicted of murdering Ramey Salem, who was gunned down in cold blood on November 16, 2020. Pickering was first arrested in June 2020 and electronic devices that were seized from him were found to contain the catalogue of images.Sheraz Hussain, Hamad Hussain, Tabish Ali and Mohammed Khan The two Hussain brothers and Ali were handed life sentences in July for the brutal execution of Jamal Nedd outside his home.
Hamad Hussain was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 34 years for murder and committing a series of acts with intent to pervert the course of justice. He has already spent 273 days on remand so will serve 33 years an 92 days before being eligible for parole.Usman Sultan The eighth member of a vile grooming gang, Sultan, was finally jailed in July.
Watts had engaged in sex chat with the decoy, and during the messaging disclosed his home address when she said she wanted to send him a friendship bracelet. The sting led to his arrest. It was not the first time Watts had been stung, having been caught three times by online "decoys" posing as under-age school girls.
The trio appeared at Bradford Crown Court on August 17 where they were each sentenced to four years and three months in prison. West Yorkshire Police have since welcomed the sentencing of the three men, but warned Emmanuel Sheriff was still on the run.Paul O'Mara Paul O'Mara was found guilty of sex offences against an underage girl. His sentencing was postponed while he arranged care for his 80-year-old mother who suffers from dementia, but in August was jailed for six years.
When the victim said he was calling the police, all three men ran off, leaving behind a box of washing powder, which was later found to have Walton's DNA on it. Both Walton and Wright made 12 transactions on three of the man's card. Judge Jonathan Rose said Krolak had committed the offences for his own selfish sexual pleasure and despite the complainant telling him not to touch her.
Detective Inspector Julie Deacon of Bradford's safeguarding Unit said Wood had put the girl through a "horrendous ordeal" and said: "We welcome the lengthy sentence handed down today. Wood abused his trust and put his victim through a horrendous ordeal. His horrific offending was brought to light in 2020 when both victims bravely reported him to police. Bradford Crown Court heard how Thompson targeted one of his victims when she was just seven-years-old. The abuse would feature him sexually assaulting her in his lorry, showing her pornography, and taking indecent images of her.
