In this latest case, the police was able to arrest the foreigner before she left Singapore.
SINGAPORE: Yet another Indian woman has been fined after she was caught shoplifting from the shops at a transit hall within Changi Airport.
On 24 June, the police received a report that a backpack worth more than $180 was stolen from a retail store in the airport transit area. After reviewing the CCTV footage, the police identified two foreigners – a man and a woman – involved in the case and arrested them before they left the country. Back in April, a 38-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting a belt worth over $800 and cosmetics valued at nearly $200 from Changi Airport’s transit area. The theft had occurred nearly two months prior, on 21 Feb.
