A break from storm weather has finally arrived in the San Francisco Bay Area, but it won't last long.
"Later in the day Friday and through Saturday and Sunday, a weak system moves through," Behringer said."We're expecting a couple hundredths of an inch in valleys, a few tenths in the mountains. It'll be light rain, mostly in the North Bay and coastal mountains. It's more of a run-of-the-mill cold front, not an atmospheric river."
Weather models suggest an atmospheric river with a deep moisture plume will move across the region sometime within the March 20 to 24 timeframe. While there's a lot of uncertainty around the strength of the storm and where it will be focused, confidence is increasing that the Bay Area will see another wet storm next week, Behringer said.
