Mahomes said in the special that when he was younger, he wanted to grow up to be a shortstop. He was drafted by the Tigers in the 37th round of the 2014 MLB Draft, but did not sign, instead attending Texas Tech to focus on football. Now, Mahomes is a two-time NFL MVP.

Mahomes said hitting a baseball was “one of the toughest things to do in the world.”Mahomes completed 24 of 33 passes for 272 yards and three touchdowns in the Chief’s 41-10 win over the Chicago Bears on Sunday.
