Wydad 'get answer' to bid for star linked with Soweto giants previously
Rulani Mokwena's Wydad Athletic Club have now reportedly received their answer after making a bid to sign a star who was previously linked with a move to Soweto.
The Moroccan outfit were said to be interested in Young Africans SC star Stephane Aziz Ki, and according to Al Ahly 'chasing' foreign forward, Tau on way out?It is claimed Mokwena requested his new team to submit an official bid to Yanga in an attempt to acquire the Burkina Faso international's services.
However, the Tanzanian outfit are understood to have considered the offer"weak", and remain intent on holding on to the player for the upcoming season. It has previously been suggested that the South African tactician had highlighted Aziz Ki as a priority target as he looks to bolster the Wydad squad after the recent departures of several first-team players.
The attacking midfielder has attracted the attention of many sides across the continent in recent months, including DStv Premiership giants Orlando Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns, who were believed to be interested acquiring the 28-year-old's signature.
Wydad, meanwhile, are currently under a transfer ban imposed on them by FIFA for breaching the contracts of three of their former players. However, club president-elect Hicham Ait Menna is thought to be working on paying off the side's outstanding debts in a bid to get the ban lifted as soon as possible.
