Advocate Kagisho Moruri, who represents accused one, Senohe Matsoara, also represents accused seven, Tieho Makhotsa.The lawyer has no further questions for the witness, and his cross-examination has ended.The witness responded that the community could also easily attack him.The lawyer says the accused was not paid for the events claimed by the witness and was not part of the plot.
The lawyer stated that there is no evidence that the accused would harm the witnesses, and he has not had any violence in his past.Thabo Bester's co-accused appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate's Court on Friday 19 May.The lawyer stated that his client does not commit any offences against the public if he gets bail.The lawyer says his client only reported for duty at 07:45, and if so, then there is no way he could be involved in the arson of which he is accused.
The advocate asks what evidence the witness has for Masukela's alleged involvement with the claiming of the body. This came after an addendum to the proceedings last week that barred media from live recordings of the hearings.The five people accused of aiding Thabo Bester's escape last year will appear at the Bloemfontein Magistrate's Court on Friday.On Tuesday, advocate Kagisho Moruri represented accused one, Senohe Matsoara, and advocate Tshotlego Makamedi represented accused three, Teboho Lipholo.
