Mpumelelo Mhlongo was unable to add to South Africa’s medal tally when he placed fifth in the men’s long jump - T64, but he did break his world record in the T44 category on the night.

Competing in the men’s H1 individual time trial, Du Preez managed to cross the finish line in a time of 36:07.05 to win the bronze medal. In the para equestrian individual event Grade IV, Philippa Johnson-Dwyer flew the South African flag high as she finished 14th overall with a total score of 63.889.
