ICYMI: Worth Repeating: A call to love thy neighbour – and hope for the poor | SaltWire
“This is partly how I can relate to the poor and the homeless, I have gone through a lot of what these people are going through. I would like to give hope to some of these people I run into, I want to be a voice for the poor.
“One of my fondest memories as a young boy was going fishing with my dad,” Hunt recalled. “We’d fish rainbow and brown trout in the lakes, we’d catch some dandy trout.”in 1981, Hunt worked for a period of time as a cook at the Swiss Chalet Restaurant on Kenmount Road in St. John’s. Further employment saw him work as a carpenter’s helper.
“This past while I believe I’ve made a 360-degree turn in my life,” Hunt told me later. “I’ve been a busker for a while now, I had no employment, so I began using the musical talent God gave me to help me get by. It has been going quite well, I meet people on the street from all over. I believe my music is being fairly well received.”
