FOX Sports announced last week that Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady will become the network's No. 1 NFL game analyst following his retirement.
If Olsen does great, he would have to swallow some pride to be re-assigned to the No. 2 spot; however, he could put himself in position to be the next No. 1 and he will be able to demand a top salary. He also could create a situation where Fox goes with a three-man booth.The best-case scenario? Brady continues to defy Father Time and extends his career for multiple seasons. By the time Brady retires, it’s possible a seat could be open for Olsen at NBC.
NBC just re-upped Collinsworth at $12.5 million per year through the network’s next Super Bowl in early 2026. At that point, Collisnworth will be 67, an age at which he can easily continue to call games. But maybe NBC wants to figure out what is next., FOX Sports has “already begun discussions to make Olsen the No. 1 analyst, according to sources. No contract is completed, but Olsen is on his way to standing next to Kevin Burkhardt on Super Bowl Sunday.
